I have been a musician and music lover for a huge part of my life.
I have recently stepped away from the realm of acoustic music and songwriting (somewhat) and into the realm of electronic music and music creation and composition in the styles of Electronica, hip hop, game music, dance, and techno. This started as a basic interest in the depths of my soul and the back of my brain for many years and grew a little when I tried to create a little intro for my gaming YouTube channel. That opened a door to experimentation and then just plain obsession. I am now having WAAAAAAY too much fun creating this music and have really enjoyed being able to step out of my little box and the boundaries of playing and writing with an acoustic guitar and singing into this world of sounds, loops and (my personal favorite) REALLY LOW AND CHUNKY BASS LINES AND BEATS!
Much of the songs I create now stem from a simple idea, attempts to actually duplicate styles and sounds from some of my favorite artists in these genres, or (and this is the most prevalent) melodies and songs that I have toyed with since I was a kid that have been floating around my head for years. And then of course there are the ones where I say F it all and just go crazy!!! But isn't that where all of us electronic musicians and creators get our inspiration and ideas from?
I would really like to hook up with some indie game developers (video games are another huge passion of mine), filmmakers or an independent music label willing to take a chance on someone new with a sound that is basically like everything else in the electronic world yet completely different at the same time. Also, since this whole thing leads to a pretty solitary and anti-social existence, I am always open to collaborations with other aspiring amateurs or professionals.
And for anyone curious about my acoustic stuff, relax... I will be sharing that too. What can I say? I like to create things!!
