Alright, my name's Jack, but all my mates refer to me as Jacky Rowe, so it's kinda stuck from there! Having played the violin since the age of 5 (with a gap between ages 10 and 13) and being self taught for the latter I've picked up a variety of influences along the way, such as The Levellers, David Gilmour, Ed Alleyne-Johnson and The Peatbog Faeries, as well as genres including world music from mongolian to klezmer, and the blues.
And now with the summer under way I'm going to try and rejuvenate this page once and for all!
[Signing my CD after playing with Justin Sullivan and Dean White] "For making the violin sing."
- Justin Sullivan, New Model Army (27th October 2011)
"When We Used to Dance is a great introduction to the power of Adam’s lyrics. I’m not sure what inspired him personally to write it but if you want to dance an apology to the earth for the mess the human race has caused this is your tune! This track also features great fiddle playing by Jack Rowe (makes note to self to look up more from him also)."
- Green Man Festival 2012 (Glanusk) (Under a Banner Review)
"Wow - Like having David Gilmour on stage!" [Having just played the solos in Comfortably Numb with them]
- Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs (24th August 2013, The Barge Inn, Wiltshire)
