In Trance 95 was formed by Alex Machairas and Nik Veliotis when they were just 18 years old. From its inception, the duo shaped their sound using portable analogue synthesizers and drum machines, becoming one of the first artists in the minimal synth / cold wave / electro-pop vein to come out of Greece in the 80s.
From May1988 that they started and until 1992, they released two singles, one 12”, and one album as well as appearing on several compilations at the time with their debut 7inch "Desire To Desire / Brazilia" managing to gain cult status the following years long after their split. In Trance 95's reformation took place in April 2010 after an invitation of Recoil to play as their selected guests at their gig in Athens. Alex and Nik met again and decided to continue working together since. In the following months the duo started working on their new album and presented a sample of it by releasing a video for a new track, "Wave (Are We Alone)" ,in the beginning of 2011.Another two gigs followed, while the same period they completed a compilation of their early works of 1988 entitled "Cities Of Steel And Neon" that got released by American label Minimal Wave in October 2011. In Trance 95 are currently back in their studio to finish the new album that will be released in 2012.
