A vocalist and songwriter, Isabell is making a name for herself in the electronic dance music industry with recent work signed to Black Hole Recordings, Nocturnal Global, M-Toxin and DB Records. Exuding a positive energy, her lyrics are catchy and thought-provoking and her vocals compliment each track with just the right vibe, from powerful to edgy to seductive. Since 2008, she’s teamed up with producers Medway and Chris Domingo, turning out several new tracks and remixes, which have been gaining support from listeners and DJs all over the world.
“Fade” by Medway, featuring Isabell first aired on the internationally-syndicated Sirius radio show, Nocturnal Sessions with Matt Darey, in February ’09 and was released as a Beatport exclusive in March ’09. In a review, King Jamz described the track saying, “Medway provides us with Isabell’s siren-esque vocals in Chris Domingo’s remix of “Fade.” Nothing goes better together than piano and female vocals. Chris adds that extra bounce in the bass line to make it slightly club friendly. Seductive whispering, with thought-provoking lyrics.”
Isabell’s second 2009 release, “Get You On,” was on the track list for Oliver Smith - Anjunabeats Worldwide 120 Radio Show in April ’09 while also airing on the Deep House Cat Show with DJ philE on SSradioUK.com (Episode 48). Since then, the track has been listed on Beatport’s Top 100 Progressive House and Breaks Downloads, in the top 100 downloads at DJtunes.com and in House Planet’s hot selections for the week. ”
Isabell has always been drawn to music for its ability to connect people through shared experiences and emotions and tries to convey this in her writing and performances. One of the first bands Isabell performed with was Primal Eye, an accomplished and eclectic group of 12 musicians as well as dancers and an organic light show provided by Perego. They played the festival circuit, including Alachua, Zen, the Hemp Fest, and Journey into Ecstasy. During that same time, she was also writing and singing for producers and DJs, collaborating with Ultra Modern Underworld, DJ Apache a.k.a Lance Cashion, Matt Harris, Caffeine Records, Hawk and Knightlife Records. She worked with Medway for the first time in ’99, lending her vocals and influence to his “Baseline Track,” a Hooj Choons release.
Isabell went on to front a band called Luxure, which later reformed as Solrae; a four-piece group delivering a jazz-infused, old-Chicago house sound. The original members worked together for about 3½ years before going separate directions. Refusing to be derailed from her passion, Isabell went back to the studio, collaborating with Vital Music Records, DJ KJ of K5, Alan Fooks and DB records. That’s also when she worked with Medway again, this time on the ’09 released track, “Fade.” Isabell then teamed up with Chris Domingo to release “I Can Be the Rain, “Turn me Up” and for a “Fade” remix.
Isabell’s most recent releases on DB records and M-Toxin records are “Last Day,” and “Switch On." Both Tracks have hit charts and air-waves all over the world. "Switch On" also made it into a regular rotation on Matt Darey's Nocturnal Sessions radio show including the "Listener's Request Show" where fans from all over the country emailed in their favorites and the best tracks of 2009.
