Hour Five of the Pony: Remix Culture series. I feel this is a bit of a special occasion, this being the fifth entry and all. This is also why the Youtube upload is going to take a wee bit longer, since I'm completely redoing the visualizer :)

Anyhow, let's go through this mix here: The one thing about mixes I really love is that it they can feel much longer and bigger than an hour.
They can be a big, epic, musical journey, slowly climbing to great heights.
It's something I learned while tinkering away at this series, and with Part Five I think I'm getting close to that, though I think Part Two is still the best in this regard.

You could roughly divide this mix into two halves. The first offering an array of house oriented tracks and getting progressively harder and darker, and the second flying off on trance-infused goodness.

We start off with Korw's reinterpretation of "Pinkie's Brew", a concoction mixing Friendship is Witchcraft's original, the Russian Gypsy Jazz cover and a pumping beat into a swinging whole.
Keeping up the pace the mix progresses towards SimGretina's lighthearted remix of "Hop, Skip and a Jump". I don't think there has been an entry in this series which didn't have one of his songs: "Prolific" is an understatement.
New to the series is Elliptisoar who has been tinkering his way along, entering contests, and getting featured on this Summer's epic Balloon Party. His remix of Omnipony's "Return" changes up the key and lends it some nicely rounded electrohouse vibes.
Alex S. starts changing the mix up with "Ultimate Sweetie Belle", a change which continues with Silva Hound's Everypony's Bangin', which is indeed bangin' and culminates in the dark and relentless "Villains" by 5Copy and Sentennial.

Light is at the end of the sonic tunnel though and HMage brings it with his remix of "Raise the Sun", starting off the second half of this mix. But not before Thorinair's huge "The Darkening" demands your attention with its unusual, progressive structure.
A mix with a touch of trance is not complete without JayB, one of my personal favourite producers. He has been experimenting with voices from the show and his "I Love Everything" is the result of that. It has a great stop-and-go feel to it and mixes awesomely with "The Darkening".
Nicolas Dominique's "Project: Cake" follows, and we're now on our way up, going past FraGmenTd reworking of his own "Twilight Ethereal" and ending up at JayB's truly epic interpretation of Dasha and the Living Tombstone's "Good Girl"; the perfect high note to end on.
