If you know us, you know that we normally slap punk lyrics onto old-school gospel music. So naturally, we started wondering what a punk anthem might sound like if it were done gospel. And what better song to cover than American Jesus? It lays out a message that deserves to be belted. So we did.
Not long after, while recording our upcoming EP, we found out BAD RELIGION would be performing at NXNE 2012 (as were we). Although this wasn’t part of the plan, we knew that we couldn’t not track this song. So we did.
We were hoping it might make it to the band’s ears. Well, it did. They posted it on their website, which has us tickled pink. Because they were on the front line before it was fashionable. They are giants.
Without further ado, our homage to Bad Religion’s American Jesus. Turn up the volume. If you like the original version, you’re gonna love the finale.
