I'm a writer first; anything else you want to call me comes second to my love for communication via carefully-selected words, linguistic mechanics, and ideas. You can also consider me a lyricist, a poet, a rapper, and an emcee.
I've been writing and rhyming since 1997, a time which I consider perfect for beginning a path through and with Hip-Hop.
Back then, after two titans of the industry had passed, we were all trying to figure out where we were going. The media turned its back on us and our phase of self-discovery bore two divergent paths: those of us that wanted to regain the adoration and attention of the media through superficial means, and those of us out to prove our worth by doing something productive with our talents and unique perspectives. I gravitated towards the latter.
I'm inspired by rappers from all over the timeline, from the 80s' De La Soul, Rakim, Run DMC, and MC Lyte, to today's Lupe Fiasco, Homeboy Sandman, Black Milk, Tanya Morgan, and J. Cole.
I intend to build a substantial legacy for myself, and in doing so, gain a fair share of the Hip-Hop tapestry, one verse at a time.
