I started playing guitar in 1976 at the age of 13. I remember doing my first hall party in 1978 at Elmers Steak Pit hall. I got trashed on Gin and lemonade. Well any way, I was hooked,on playin live that is. I've played in cover band ever since. Some of the biggest shows I did was the Riverbend festival in Tennessee and the Detroit Hoedowns, both country gigs.
Throught the 90s i was playing steady gigs throught the week, for a living. I experienced a lot playing the clubs in the metro detroit area. It was alot of ,SEX, BOOZE AND ROCK N ROLL.
In 1997 I landed a weekend house gig at a bar in Flat Rock Michigan call ed Southern Nights. We played anything from Willie Nelson to Metallica,Garth Brooks the Van Halen, GodSmack, RedHotChilliPeppers. We were ther for 5 years every Saturday and Sunday. We called the band The Unwanted. It was me , Becham Combs on keys and vox, Danny Ball on Drums(and other stuff I wont mention) and Ricky Jones on bass and vox. I thing we had about 5 other bass players and 3 other drummer during that run. Lotsa fun there.
Since the I played with Velvet Voodoo, Mob Opera and 2 Fingerpocket. But back in around December 2011 a friend of mine who writes and records gave me a recording program called Cubase. After a few months of painstaking learning that program, I'm recording. An these songs are the start of my new music venture. They're kinda raw and simple but they're mine...and my girlfriend, Tammy. She helps with the lyrics.
Right now I am not with a cover band only because everyone wants to play EVERY WEEKEND. I think 2 is enough anyomre.
I play a Peavey Wolfgang guitar, my favorite. I also play a Schector XXX with customer Seymore Duncans. I run those thru my pedal board which has a Dunlop Cry Baby ,Boss tuner, MXR Phase 90, Boss Delay, Digitech Delay for a fast slap, Boss Super Chorus and a Boss EQ just for a slight mid boost for some leads. All that plugged into a 5150 Combo and the shit just rock. I have an Oscar Schmit campfire acoustic and a Washburn electric acoustic. No more of that 10-12 guitar shit. That just confuses the shit outta me.
