with a HUGE desire to put out these tracks with a dead computer, i borrowed my lady's computer which had no audio input... i bought a small usb soundcard for cheap that only had a mono input. though, despite a huge quality loss, i'm glad i'm able to present these to you today.

the first track is sampled from the taxi theme. christopher lloyd has the first line. "everyone has a goal...so i'm gonna do everything perfect." of course nobody is perfect, equipment dies, we run out of time, but at least we can try and do our best to reach our goals.

the second track is sampled from whitney houston's "good love." it did not start as a dedication as she was still alive when i was making it, which made her death even rougher to accept. as i was finishing this trio ep, i was surfing through old interviews before her drug scandal to see if i could find some sort of musical truth that applied to me and other hip hop/sampling artists. she mentions the artists she who influenced her which, i feel, have all touched my life at some point. interestingly enough, she adds how she mixes them up and comes up with herself. i feel the same.

the last track was sampled from a bill evans piece, "dream gypsee." there was a short instance of guitar that really touched me and i really wanted to do something with it. the end result was something that felt sad and longing. it was the first of the three i compiled. i left it on the mpc for a while because it was difficult to find a place for it. i believe that it is a fitting lament to a singer that influenced me and my music.
