Alex Jones, Ste Roberts and Dave Elkabas’ Initials label rolls on with a very special rerelease of the brilliant DJ Linus ‘K.B’s Groove’, featuring Analogue Cops and Kris Wadsworth remixes.

More than just fans of Dj Linus 1997 release of ‘K.B’s Groove’, Initials’ team actually count the idea of re-releasing the Compose Records release as a big catalyst for the creation of Initials and it’s not hard to fathom why.

Reduced, ponderous and darkly emotive, KB’s groove is a timeless piece of modern house
music that resonates as much today as it did in the late-nineties. Perverting many a Chicago house trope with a European twist, DJ Linus nailed a perfectly rounded piece of subtly vocal led house.

The Analogue Cops Remix Two is typically raw, imposing and brutal in its approach to the original material. Thunderous kicks and subs dominate the mix before spiralling arpeggios
circle the original’s spoken vocals as a precursor to more familiar chord led interludes. This is another unique perspective from the Berlin-based Italians and aptly displays why there’s so much hype around them now.

Kris Wadsworth, a long time associate of two thirds of the Initials team, turns in a deliriously unnerving remix. With the vocals warped atop a buzzing bottom end, Wadsworth rebuilds the
track with a genuinely creepy tension while using what sounds like most of the originals parts,
albeit in fractured and deconstructed forms. As interesting as it is dancefloor, this is adsworth in fine fettle.

‘K.B’s Groove’ is released on vinyl 10th September 2012, and digitally in Late October 2012.
