From the age of 15, Clive bought his first pair of decks and began buying hardcore white labels in 1992. This had followed on from his love of Electro & Hip Hop from the age of 8 years old, where he would make his own mixtapes by record and pausing from various tapes. This infactuation with music has never left him, a keen follower of hardcore through to jungle & then drum & bass. He DJ'd under the name "Psylence" from 1997 and after 2 years of working in Redeye Records, he did a 5 year stint on London Pirate Rude FM. He then notched-up 8 years working for Drum & Bass distributors SRD & ST Holdings. It was there that Ingredients was born. His idea was to nurture new talent & give them a platform to release their music and bring something to the scene he had spent so many years supporting.
Going to raves in 1993, to being a regular at Speed in 1995 & the sunday sessions at the Blue Note where Metalheadz made their name. Ingredients fresh approach has seen artists like Dub Phizix, Skeptical, Mode, Sato, Pessimist, Mute & Mako, Foreign Concept, Villem, Krakota, dRamatic & dbAudio, Ruffhouse & more recently Response all blossom under the label which the drum & bass scene could not ignore. Ingredients continues with it's philosophy of putting the music first without being pigeon-holed for a certain style, something which Clive feels is what has made Drum & Bass last so long.
