aha! Good morrow! (bit of a nerd greeting there!)
I am Karl! and this is my solo project " Inceladus ". incidentally named after one of Saturn's moons which infact is spelt with an E! But I don't want to go into that because that would bore you right? anyway... I have had a firm intrest with music for quite a while, from listening to it, talking about it and making it! I generally spend my days fucking around on guitar may that be some tasty chunky chunk chunk riffs!, or some blues chops, or just kicking it back with some reverb/delay and long notes that last for eternity! (it's a lazy form of playing right?), Never the less... its the shit! I have currently began to look more at the " Big picture " appose to just wasting my hours trying to be the best when there's fucks out there like Paul Gilbert, Michael Romeo and Mattias Eklundh already exposing every in-human way to play that dam stringed thing! So I decided this might be a good time to start actually making music! Currently recording more material in a little home studio which belongs to my brother Ryan, check out his solo work also - Rising Oceans, great stuff!
I like to think I have an open mind when it comes to music, sure there is quite a few artists out there which I don't dig but I like to keep a open mind when it comes to music. I find this very important for making music, The more different types of music you listen to and styles the more music perficient you will be and you should have ideas coming left, right and centre! That being said though, The main Genre I tend to focus most on is Progressive. The great thing about progressive music is that you can really vary your music from differnt moods and styles! Main influences that made me look at music a whole new way and push me to want to make music are -
Devin Townsend - SYL, DTP
Arjen Anthony Lucassen - Ayreon, Star One
Dan Swano - Nightingale, Moontower, bloodbath
Mattias Eklundh - Freak Kitchen, Freak guitar
These folks are my main influences aimed more at solo artists. although the list goes on, bands and artists like Shadow Gallery, Ihsahn, Opeth, Symphony X, Sonata Arctica, Larry Carlton, Rory Gallagher, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Blind Melon, Carcass, Avantasia, Between the Buried and me, Frank Zappa, Gojira, Marillion the list goes on folks!
Alot more tracks to be recorded and uploaded very shortly guys! Thanks for dropping by! Enjoy and peace!
Inceladus - Karl
Be sure to check out my brothers profile - Rising Oceans. Killer stuff!
