Imaginary Axis is a constellation of soundscape and music composed for art contemporary and museum installations in the latest years by Enrico Ascoli
Enrico Ascoli is music producer, sound designer and psychologist, Enrico Ascoli (Turin, 1974) works since the early ‘90s in advertising, contemporary art, theatre and cognitive ergonomic research.
His wide range of theoretical and aesthetic inspirations (from ancient music to glitch passing through music psychology literature and experimental sound-art) appears poetically re-interpreted in his installations, soundtracks and live sets.
As artist and sound designer: he worked as psychoacoustic researcher for Tlab (Telecom Italian Lab) and CRF (Fiat Research Centre).
He creates music and sound effects for stage shows, for the most important advertising agencies in Italy and for short films and documentaries.
He works with different contemporary artists and he was present together with them at Prague Biennale 2003, Turin Quadrennial 2004, Art Basel 2004, Beaconsfield Art Gallery London, HartCore Gallery Paris, Rijsk academy Amsterdam 2005/2006, London Royal College 2008.
He has a professorship in sound design and music psychology at the European Institute of Design in Milan, Italy.
As producer: has different project in collaboration with other musician: Brindisi Paradiso, in duo with Marco Foresta, released by hit beat Records; Starfish Radio, trio with Marco Piccioni and Daniele Camarda. His soundtracks are also released, City Living Records (Giacomo Spazio Label)
As live performer: His eclectic style of lap top music improvisations has brought him to play in fashion events in Milan (Mila Shon 2008) Paris and Amsterdam, clubs across Europe and festivals like Toshare 2008 (www.toshare.it), FIB (Benicassin 2001/2002), Villette Numerique (Paris 2002), Rencotre Paris-Berlin 2003.
Since 1999 he collaborates with experimental new-media art collective as 8081, producing multimedia live acts and installations (Palace Plot, 8081 2001), Todo (www.todo.to.it).
