'Oscillate' is a soundwork derived from data on the natural resonances of the interior of the sun which manifest as gentle oscillations of the solar surface. For this piece, repetitive structures of sine waves reflecting these solar overtones are combined to explore a “hovering” sense of time.
Original data are courtesy of the Birmingham Solar-Oscillations Network (BiSON) research team, School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Birmingham.
