MeloGold is the musical vision of Kevin Davis, a 24 year old, self-taught producer. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Melo draws heavy influence from the legendary DJ Screw, Southern rap (Houston rap in particular) and trap music. Blending in his own style to form an eclectic sound of bass heavy, downtempo electro-hop. Other artists that Melo draws influence from are Nightmares on Wax, Eliot Lipp, Ooah, Gelka, Bonobo and Sound Tribe Sector 9, just to name a few.
Melo has opened up shows for Archnemesis, Psymbionic and JazzSteppa, amongst others. He can also be found almost every weekend DJ'ing and collaborating with other local artists at bars and venues all over Houston.
