Mizza is a DJ, vocalist, songwriter and owner of Project Groove DJs. Mizza's passion for singing started at an early age, but she didn't get into songwriting until she received a keyboard as a gift in middle school. Mizza had her first exposure to electronic music in the form of 90s House music and couldn't get enough of it. She immersed herself into the Chicago club scene and fell in love with electronic music. In 2001, after awaking from a dream in which she was a DJ, Mizza went out and purchased her first set of turntables and began to teach herself the art of DJing. She began DJing in several clubs and bars throughout the Chicago area bringing her energetic blend of house, tech-house and electro house music to all that would listen. In an effort to share her passion for music with the masses, Mizza started Project Groove DJs, a mobile DJ company based out of Chicago in 2005. In 2006, she met DJ, producer and musician Jesse Rivera while DJing at a party. Jesse was looking for a vocalist for his new house music label and the two started working together. Shortly thereafter, Jesse teamed up with Jose Zaragoza and started Deep Hype Sounds, an independent record label out of Chicago, and brought Mizza on as a vocalist for the label.
