After releasing on various different music labels individually Feno & Peter Sweeney decided to form like Voltron to combine musical ideas and Hypertic was born.
Beginning in 2009, Hypertic's first release of their track Less Ket More Success on Italian label Malatoid Records proved a massive success due its charting for over 3 weeks in the Beatport Techno Top 100 finally peaking at number 19. This was to be the catalyst that lead to a host of release and remix requests on some highly respected International labels.
Following on from a remix on Simplex Records of Opak's track E-s-s-e, the pair signed an individual track to one of the world's largest chill out labels in Cold Busted. The track Sunny Side Up featured on the American labels Stone Cold Busted compilation and provided another Beatport Top 100 when the track peaked at number 33 in the Beatport Chill Out Top 100.
The Monsoon EP came next and was the most prestigious release for the duo to date due it being released on Berlin uber label Resopal Schallware. Home to artists such as Gaiser, Paul Ritch,John Tejada & GusGus to name but a few it proved to be a worthy home for the incredibly popular EP. Subsequently Hypertic released tracks on 2 compilations on Resopal and completed a remix of MRI's track Rejam again on the Berlin label.
Germany was the home for their next EP on Hanover based Love Hertz Recordings. The Poem 1/Solvida EP featured the deep epic grooves of the two tracks and both found universal favour with deep house djs such as Moodymanc & Alex Flattner among others. Subsequently the track Solvida would feature on German label Futureaudio's Colours Of Deep House compilation alongside artists such as Ekkohaus & Wolf + Lamb.
Returning to their roots for release on Irish label FVF Records with the Wireless EP it provided a Beatport Minimal Top 100 with the Reagan remix of Alkatraz. The pair then completed a remix of Glaswegian Techno kingpin Hans Bouffmhyre's track Heartache on Aciitone which received spins by everyone from James Zabelia to Paco Osuna.
The end of 2010 saw Hypertic align themselves with Louis Osborne & his Mija Recordings imprint for a remix of Swede Per Hammar's track El Salvador. The Hypertic remix of El Salvador was featured on the Djuma Soundsystem Jan 11 promo mix. The Tycho Crater EP was then released on Simplex Records featuring a Roberto Villas remix.
The remixing of Per Hammar on Mija would eventually result in the pair signing the Alpha Train EP which was released in Feb 2011 featuring a Tony Rohr remix. The Alpha Train EP was to prove a huge success and the lead track from the EP featured in both Karotte & Alex Delano's Jan 11 mix, the latter being a mix for German super label Mobilee's podcast series.
As the schedule has stayed increasingly busy, the next 2 releases were to score more Beatport success for Hypertic as they released on Baroque Records, long renowned as one of the UK's finest labels and also on Simplex Records in Feb 11. Their track Semyorka which featured on Baroque's Exploring Ireland compilation peaked in the Beatport Chill Out Top 100 at number 35.
The next release was the Arc LIght EP featuring Roland M Dill on remix duties and both the original and remix were to enter the Beatport Minimal Top 100 as Hypertic showed the diversited in their sound that has resulted in Top 100 chartings in the Techno, Minimal & Chill Out genres.
The latest release to feature Hypertic was on Deadsound's Behind Time EP where the provided a stomping remix alongside Tresor legend Dave Tarrida & Little Nobody. The EP has received incredible feedback and the release peaked at number 2 on the Juno Techno Top 100.
Currently the release schedule is mounting with the track Cadence soon to appear on Gideon's Lessismore label. The Hypertic remix of Subsignal's track Lilac will be out on vinyl in the coming weeks and the pair have also signed an EP to Dutch label Stolen Moments. The EP will feature an SQL remix and the label is home to artists such as Umek, Tomy DeClerque and Perc among others.
