A short choral piece for Easter, for unaccompanied four-part choir.
I'm a composer working mostly in sacred music, but I also write in other fields. If your school or choir would like a piece written for you, please get in touch!
This recording was made with a grant from the Bliss Trust, in Greyfriars Church, Edinburgh, and recorded by the Ad Hoc Choir conducted by Ewan Armstrong.
The words are by Venantius Fortunatus (530-609). Translation:
Faithful cross, above all other, one and only noble tree,
None in foliage, none in blossom, none in fruit compares to thee.
Sweet the wood and sweet the nails; sweet the weight that hangs on thee.
