Folk Pop Modern Folk with Pop influences.
You made your mind up and you stuck with it
But wondered if you’d lost your luck with it
Is it possible that sometimes you ain’t right?
You hear the laughing coming from the crowd
You’d call it pride, but you’re a little proud
To change your tune and use a little hindsight
You can change your mind
You can change your mind
You can change your mind
Sitting pretty, staring at the stage,
Pointing, laughing at the beast in cage
Do you really think that this is justified?
What if by magic or a change of stars-
You were stripped and chained and thrown behind the bars?
You’d cry for help, but you wouldn’t feel dignified
(Chorus)
You’re so comfy in your daily grind
Your kind of freedom is a certain kind
Your refrigerator runs on peace of mind
But what would happen if you broke routine,
Took the decaf out and used caffeine?
A little spice can be nice if you know what I mean
(Chorus)
You’re always telling me to do my part
But as of late you’ve had a change of heart
The other day I say walking in the park-
You said: “Think of all the things you might miss
If you stay on course and settle short of bliss
Most of all you should remember this-“
“You can change your mind
You can change your mind
You can change your mind”

@Lee >>> Lucas: You're right this song is more than just "rock." I love many genres of music, so naturally I tend to use elements of many genres in my music. Thank you so much, Lee!

Another very well written song here Joe. To be quite honest regarding it's genre of Rock 'N' Roll I feel there is also very much a country element in this song, perhaps down to the style of the instrumentation being used throughout, which was very good by the way, and in reality I suppose it's a bit like fusing the genre's together, which is a good thing in my book, especially when it comes down to one's individual style. Which is very much what I felt you gave this one here mate. Very nice collab and very well done, and I certainly enjoyed it.

Yeah I see what you mean about you have been using the Mandolin quite a bit in your newer material here, and it's very good I have to say, and very well fitting, even in this Rock 'N' Roll number you got going on here.

God....so comfortable, a warm handshake in exchange for a furtive smile....Joseph Houck could convince the devil himself, and do it all with easy grace..... I remain utterly convinced, and the whole crew in on here along with, ahhh Sir that's just more honey dripping from a spatula abundant

Really nice Joseph! As always, brilliant lyrics. Live the first two lines, they really set up the whole feeling of the rest. Like someone said, I´d road trip to this anytime :) Sweet, just keep going..
