One more hour, one more cup of coffee
Maybe then I’ll call it quits on living in a dream
But, the city’s always been the best for playing ‘hide & seek’
And, actually waking up never seemed that great to me, never seemed that great to me

Numbing of the mind can help the sting
Of knowing I’ve spent months awake still feeling I’m asleep
Believing ignorance to pain is the meaning of everything
Guess it’s easier for you; guess that’s easier for me

So come here dear, and try to distract me
I know that in a way that’s what we wanted this to be
Sometimes you know I really think we’re awfully convincing
But, trading compliments for hours never seemed that great to me, never seemed that great to me

Your holding someone else’s hips every time you blink
It’s easier to pretend then you’re not holding onto me
But, I don’t blame you; loneliness was never known for mercy
So if you want to love her, I won’t show you any greed, I sure won’t show you any greed

The headline in the paper told you not to worry
I told you, ‘you can lose your mind believing all you read’
But even you believe that I will walk away eventually
But we don’t let that take priority, no we couldn’t do that, could we?
Why worry bout priority, it never seemed that great to me
