About
Hong Kong In The 60s are Christopher Greenberg, Mei Yau Kan and Tim Scullion.
The London-based trio released their debut album, “My Fantoms”, in 2011.
In the past few years, they have played live with Still Corners, A Classic Education, Position Normal, Je Suis Animal, Fuzzy Lights, Design A Wave, Hype Williams, The High Llamas, Father Murphy and Trouble Books.
The band has also collaborated with The Advisory Circle on the Ghost Box 7” release, Study Series 02: Cycles and Seasons.
They are heavily influenced by early electronic pop, 1960s Chinese music and Italian film soundtracks. Using their collection of old Casio keyboards, the group combine bittersweet pop melodies and atmospheric electronics to create what Sean O’Hagan of The High Llamas describes as a “lovely, understated and quite beautiful sound”.
