@Hollidayrain: I'm not saying he will have a tank season even with the low average in spring, biggest improvements were on the defensive side of the ball and also actually being able to make contact. Better than wiffing completely haha.

@MethodzMusic: Ehhh, he still hit 30+ HR's that season, and hit about .200. Also, he's hitting about .160 this Spring, so we'll see. haha

@Hollidayrain: He already had the Adam Dunn year before he came to the Orioles, he hit like .180 the season before he joined us lol. But his swing looks insanely different this year, it hasn't taken away from his power at all but it looks faster. Don't think he struck out very much during the spring either, so it's a pretty promising sign!

@MethodzMusic: Mark Reynolds is the most frustrating player to watch in the world. He lights it up in batting practice though. One time, he hit one that left the stadium at Coors Field (on a bounce). He's gonna Adam Dunn one of these years and hit .160 though -- he has a hole in his swing the size of Texas. He's already struck out more than Albert Pujols in 6 less seasons. HAHA

@Hollidayrain: I agree it won't be this year, maybe not even next year. It's more or less a completely new build now though with Duquette at GM. He's been looking A LOT in asian leagues for talent (which we signed two big named Japanese pitchers this off season, Tsuyoshi Wada and Wei-Yin Chen.) Showalter is certainly the answer at manager though, there isn't anyone else out there that could do a better job with what we've got than him. As for Wieters, most of us O's fans with any right mind knew when he got up through the system his bat would slow down a bit, but it's been coming around and getting a lot better. In my opinion, he's the best defensive catcher in the AL (Posey would have the argument against him in the NL). We've got the offensive tools, just need to build our farm system a bit and get some pitching and I think we'll be looking good. Guys like Hardy and Markakis are two solid, consistent hitters that we really need to keep around long term. After this season, I'm not so sure that we'll have Jones playing for us anymore, don't know why, but that's just my gut feeling. I'm impressed with Reynolds, who last year my and my Dad nicknamed The King of "a big swing and a miss." He dropped like 30 pounds and literally purposely lost about 10 pounds of muscle because it was slowing him down. His bat and conditioning looked SO much better this spring, it was almost unbelievable. But yeah, no problem about talking baseball, one of my favorite sports!

@MethodzMusic: That's true, two really big name prospects there. But the consistent farm production hasn't been there -- when you don't have *any* productive major leaguers from lower rounds (5-15) over a decade of drafts, that's a problem. That said, once those two big names make it to the bigs, and Wieters lives up to his potential, Baltimore might be a factor. But it won't be this year. 4 out of the 5 teams in your division are legit contenders.

@Hollidayrain: Actually, you'd be surprised. We've got a bunch of guys right now between 18-23 years old who could probably be up in the majors in at latest two more years. We got an 18 year old guy named Dylan Bundy who's the real deal, clocks 100 MPH with ease and has a nasty change up. We have a guy coming up who's also 18 named Manny Machado, and he's a really big shortstop (6'4"). We've got the talent, it's actually showed out in bunches during our spring games this year. Two guys really stood out who will easily be up at the majors by next year named LJ Hoes and Xavier Avery. We're set for the next few years as far as it goes on young talent, we just need to utilize it, which with our new coaching additions thanks to Duquette, who has turned out to be a great hire at GM, seem to be doing pretty well at this year. I'm most excited to see how Matusz goes about business this year, we rushed him back last year and it bit us in the ass. He's had an unbelievable spring this year. Arrieta will be better this year as well, he was hurt at the end of last year and that's when he pitched his worst games. I think we'll be better than most people are expecting us to be this year.

@MethodzMusic: I think the main problem with the O's is that they have consistently drafted poorly. If you look at all of the contending teams right now, they have drafted/scouted Latin America well. Then, they either use em as trade chips or develop them. If you look at the last 10 drafts for Baltimore, only 4 or 5 players have been even semi-productive in the bigs...and one of them is Jake Arrieta, who is a below average major league pitcher. What a shame...

@Hollidayrain: I swear Angelos doesn't spend money on getting big time players because he literally doesn't have the money lol. But yeah, no problemo. We got a couple of Asian guys who are SUPPOSED (key word) to be good, praying it works out lol.
