Gold Coast’s kings of D.I.Y. (do-it-yourself), electro-art rock brother duo, Hobo Obituaries, release the first in a series of limited edition EPs—Future Champions—through their independent multidisciplinary art production house, Hobo Parade Entertainment.

Future Champions [Part One], recorded and produced by the duo themselves, is now available in limited edition packaging: handmade, papier mache, gold embossed cases featuring cover art hand-printed from a carving by tattooist Andy Hobo. The six-track EP features a guest appearance by Christine Hannaford (who has been a member of many bands including seminal 90's Australian indie rock act, Spdfgh.)

Hobo Obituaries recently won the hearts of critics and fans with powerful headlining performances at the Gold Coast City Art Gallery as part of the Stan & Maureen Duke Gold Coast Art Award—the band featured on Channel Nine News. Live, the show is all about guitar/vocals, synths mashed with programmed beats, Iphone jams and samples taken from random television programming making for laugh-out-loud pandemonium. Peppered with synth-exercise bicycles, chicken men laying eggs, four-legged friends, intergalactic visuals and mid-song haircuts Hobo’s live make for a truly unique experience.

In addition to forthcoming instalments of Future Champions series, the self-proclaimed ‘visual artists that make music’ can be found working on numerous projects at any given time—a custom sneaker art show, their own line of merchandise they both design and screenprint at their art space, their own film clips—the double act true devotees of the D.I.Y. ethic. Andy and Jhonny have been a part of almost 40 music releases.

Hobo Obituaries have flexed their collaborative muscle remixing tracks for Shmoe (U.S.), Adelle, Felinedown, Reichelt and Gorilla Gorilla Gorilla the Girl. The band are also set to release a collaborative EP with Los Angeles based band, Shmoe and are developing a live DJ set: Hobo DJs—spawned from the popular Jhonny Hobo Mash-Up Party CD series.
