Hill 16 founder, Frank Murray is a quintessential Dublin rock n’ roller, Murray became a key individual in the Thin Lizzy camp. A close personal friend of Philip Lynott, he was the band’s tour manager at the height of their powers. The experience and contacts he built up in that context served him well after his association with Lizzy ended. He was tour manager for Elton John, The Specials and many more, before branching out into management. He took on the daunting task of breaking and managing The Pogues and was hugely instrumental in their success. Murray also managed Glen Hansard and The Frames, and the late, great Kirsty MacColl. Frank co-founded The Marvericks Writers and Film Festival in London and consequently was sent as a representative of the British Council to Sundance Film Festival. He brought The Marverick’s Film Festival to SXSW in Austin, Texas. In film Frank has worked with Alex Cox, Jim Jarmusch, Matt Dillion, Fisher Stevens, John Carney, Se Merry Doyle, Ronald Maxwell and the late Dennis Hopper. At present Frank is managing The Mighty Stef and is producing The Austin Fleadh, an annual festival in Austin, Texas on St. Patrick’s Day. He is Executive Producer of the film "Come On Eileen" and is researching two documentaries. Frank also hopes to collaborate on a feature with John Carney later this year.
