Collaborating with Chima Anya, King Bell is a fun time banger with a sentimental heart. The concept is about sampling a song written by William Bell about a tribute to Otis Redding or “The King” and turning it on its head. Otis Redding died at the age of 26 in a plane crash, so William Bell wrote a tribute looking at his short life and what it could have been if he lived longer (Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay was released a month after his death).

Chima took that concept and sentiment and flipped it round. As rather having a song about someone who died young, it was turned into a song about celebrating the full life of a lady who died at 100.

Written and produced by Ivan Madeira
Vocals written and performed by Chima Anya
    Additional guitar by Jose Francos-Rodriguez
Mixed and mastered by Joe Kelly

“King Bell” contains samples from “A TRIBUTE TO A KING.” Performed by Ivan Madeira featuring Chima Anya, from the album “The Very Best of William Bell” (Stax 30297). Courtesy of Stax Records/Concord Music Group, Inc.
