In a world increasingly dominated by noise and light and chaos and confusion, sometimes the most heartfelt – or violent – gesture is one of almost complete stillness. The ability to remain still at the centre of all things and observe the subtle machinations of that which surrounds us – sometimes a whispered word can be the loudest sound. The music of Heliopause encapsulates this sensation, music and words reflecting the ebb and flow of the tides, as layer upon layer combines to make a perfect sound forever.

Heliopause was begun by filmmaker and animator Richard Davis as a way of articulating those intimate moments in life unable to be expressed through his artwork. Animating, directing music videos and filming, his work always centred around music. Being closely linked to the Belfast music scene it became a natural step to take music out of the bedroom and onto the stage. Now making a name for himself as a prolific songwriter with Heliopause, he has developed a personal, soft and heartfelt style of songwriting, his music has taken him from Belfast to Berlin and now to Brighton.
