We are heartbroken to hear the news of the passing of the legendary Phyllis Diller. Thomas had the incredible opportunity to meet her the day after our New Year's Eve concerts in Los Angeles this year. One month later he traveled to Los Angeles to Phyllis' house and recorded Charlie Chaplin's "Smile" in her living room. Here is that recording:

This will become a classic. Two of the most beautiful artists in the World unfolding together. No reherssal, no time to memorize lines. Just a spontaneous combustion of energy, enthusiasm, love and pure emotion culminating in something beautiful and everlasting.

Very moving! Thanks for sharing the Phyllis Diller aloha! To be authentic, Iʻm thinking that this might refer first and foremost to the inner smile as it blossoms into the outer smile! Sylvia

Thomas thank you so much for posting this lovely clip of you and Phyllis Diller singing this it's ever so bitter sweet to hear her voice singing this piece. This is one of my favorites to sing as a late set song when there are just a few people left in the club and it's oh so nice and quiet. I love the way your fingers dance across the keys, and the sound of Phyllis's voice is so kind and sincere. I was surprized to hear on the news earlier this evening that she was a concert pianist!!! I would have loved to hear her play! I'm planning to get tickets for the Houston TX concert when the your ensemble comes to here in May 2013...I can't wait!!! Are you all going to head for the Lobby in Jones Hall like you did in Austin!!!...I can't wait to see you all again....that was lovely! Glass of Class Diva..BeBe
