Sonal Deviations is a piece that explores the extreme ends of music. The piece features dramatic changes in tonality and dynamics, bringing music which are fundamental different into a singular performance. The piece fuses sections of beat-driven music, ambient music, noise music, and minimalism. It can be noted that when a piece of music which does not necessarily appeal to an audience is mixed with a section which does, the audience is somehow less apprehensive towards the whole piece. The piece was performed together with Lee Sing Huey, Lee Sing Ern, and Jonathan Wong at the LASALLE Lunchtime Concert Series on 22nd February 2011 at the SIA Theatre, LASALLE College Of The Arts.
