hi ! my name is chris strong...46 yo male... just recently rediscovered my love for musical instruments... the last time i played them was back in my highscool years...some 30 plus yrs ago... but as of a year ago... ive started playing again... the 1st instrument i got was a bassoon...not a very good one, but it plays well enuf... next came a trumpet; not my best instrument, being mostly a woodwind specialist...have a lot of trouble playing brass instruments... which is y u wont hear too much trumpet on my tracks... i've also got 2 flutes, 2 clarinets both Bb soprano, and a bass clarinet (which was my trademark instrument back in the highschool days)....and just recently i added 2 more instruments to my collection : an old vintage mellophone, and my 1st saxophone, a tenor... i'd say my best instruments or the ones that are easiest for me...are the clarinets icluding the bass... though i'm still not great by any means... so when you listen to my tracks, keep in mind i'm just an amatuer, beginner, student of these instruments... now, moving on to the tracks themselves....for my 1st collection of recordings, it was reely just an experiment in new ways or new methods to create music... call it unconventional, i guess... i wll say this... my music is different... not what yur use to hearing probably... i hope you find it al least interesting, if anything... UPDATE(AUTUMN2011) : as of now, from this point on, all my tracks are now done the conventional way: by composing ... evry note planned out before i actually play them...makes for a nice exercise in sight reading..that's for sure...as far as my instrument collection goes, i no longer own any saxophone... my clarinet collection has increased , just about 100% complete.. the only one i'm missing is a contrabass...cud be a while bfor i obtain one of those... i have evrything else covered tho from the highest pitched Eb soprano, a C soprano, multiple Bb sopranos, including a recently purchased brand new (spent $1029 on) Leblanc 210 Bliss....which by the way took a painstaking, frustrating 3 months (after i paid for it) to finally recieve..but thats a whole other story in itself.. as well as an alto and of course bass clarinet....and i still got my trumpet, mellophone, bassoon and flute... and come tommorrow (10-3-2011), i'm really excited about welcoming a new instrument into my collection...something i've never laid hands on let alone played before... an oboe ! really excited about the challenge of learning to play a new instrument... this shud make my woodwind ensembles really complete now... as of now, i'm still working on a new piece ive composed... still got a ways to go bfor it's finished tho...this thing is so complex i can't even determine what key it's in..lol...

is this really a bass clarinet? sure doesn't sound like one... if it is, it never played one note of the entire piece in the lower chalemeau register.. which is the bass clarinet's best range...to me if you compose music for a bass voiced instrument, it should play like a true bass and not this alto, soprano wannabe crap...
