@C-rex: You turned the decay down on the actual sample or the compression? The hat sounds different depending on if it is on the same beat as the kick. If you turned down the compression decay then it may still be clipping if you didn't set the overall compression level low enough. Seriously sick song though man.
@Happy Thoughts: could also be because soundcloud compresses the shit out of the playback files
