Happiness Death Squad (abbreviated HDS) is an audio project started by Joshua T. in late 2008. While experimenting in the past with drone and feedback music he found it to be quite easy to do and the end result unsatisfying. Most of it’s influence coming from sampled work. He decided it wasn’t much of a challenge so he started under a new name drawing influence from EBM and Industrial. He has drawn inspiration from artists such as Promiscuous Burning, Suicide Commando, early industrial and others and is experimenting with creating new and interesting songs in the genre of EBM/Rhythmic Noise, but doesn't limit himself to just that. His music is free because he makes it for the pure thrill of creation.

The name Happiness Death Squad comes from the idea that a drugged nation is a docile nation. Where every illness is a chemical imbalance and if you take the right drugs you will be ‘normal’ again. Making the pill pushing doctors the Happiness Death Squad. Killing any and all creativity with pharmaseuticals. Individuality it seems is suppressed and told to take it's meds. Well HDS says enoough and it's time to fight back the senseless over medication and saturation of medicitaion and media.
