An orchestral mixture of Middle East, Spanish and Jazz influences with some electronic flavor as well. Similar in style to The Italian Job (2003) soundtrack.Defense Mechanisms Uploaded by hamsteralliance Start following Send a message on September 14, 2009 17:33

This opening very much reminds me of "Beauty Never Fades" by Junkie XL from the Animatrix soundtrack.

Definitely has a soundtrack feel to it happening here.

Epic. This is kind of a continuation of the ideas I had for "Chaos Out Of Nothingness" and "Ablation Cascade".Influence Of Mind Uploaded by hamsteralliance Start following Send a message on September 04, 2009 17:01

Psychedelic Rock influenced stuff. Just showing my appreciation for a good organ melody and the wonderful effect of sparsity and simplicity when layered.Astral Projection Uploaded by hamsteralliance Start following Send a message on August 25, 2009 19:04

Nice 8-bit sound. seems you are doing some more experimenting with that.

can i record a vocal to this? or maybe remix it and add a vocal?
- hamsteralliance on August 22, 2009 15:53
@Sheldon James: sure. Go for it. :)
- Sheldon James on August 22, 2009 16:14
@hamsteralliance: what did you use for the drum programming?
- hamsteralliance on August 22, 2009 17:04
@Sheldon James: NaturalStudio NSKIT 7 (has been renamed to Natural Drum Kit) loaded into Kontakt 3, loaded into Buzz. The drums are process with a Voxengo Varisaturator to make them all pimp and big.

@Sheldon James: real rough but i love chaos and the creation theory
- Dynamic Interplay on August 25, 2009 21:41
@hamsteralliance: NS kit used to be free right? It is paid now? That used to be one of my favorite goto natural kits.
- hamsteralliance on August 25, 2009 21:48
@Dynamic Interplay: Yeah, NSKIT 6 was the last free version. I still have it. It's nowhere near as good as 7 though, which comes on several DVDs. It's called Natrual Drum Kit now as it's been bought by another company.

Nice, reminds me of something Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree might do - what did you use for the lead that kicks in here?
- hamsteralliance on August 25, 2009 18:43
@Shades of Grey: Thanks. :) It's a distorted guitar sample through the following effects: pitch shifter +12 semitones -> heavy chorusing effect -> Guitar cabinet effect (Voxengo Boogex) with the input filter pinched to a very small range and the peaks set very high, to make it ringy sounding and then overdriven 100% -> chorus effect to make it stereo again -> delay to make the notes flow together -> limiter.

Chiptune made using 4 Game Boy synth emulations. Had a lot of fun with the sweep mod stuff for the guitar-like lead synth.Everything Resolves Eventually Uploaded by hamsteralliance Start following Send a message on June 30, 2009 01:37

As I mentioned over Twitter, the percussion work in here is superb. I thought it was recorded live. Nice work.

what tpb did you do this on? I think 16 for the resolution for humanization?
- hamsteralliance on October 03, 2009 22:52
@zaphoid1: Thanks. :) I like 8 TPB. With PVSTi global command values 07 and 08 are for humanization. :) If I'm not using PVSTi and need something to sound natural I make a humanization pattern that just cycles through values, or use a peerLFO or PeerChord.
-
@hamsteralliance: Your quite possibly the fastest responder to posts I've ever seen. Anyway, Id like to know how far off you go on humanization without sounding off period. Like 1/32 of a beat or more?
- hamsteralliance on October 03, 2009 23:18
@zaphoid1: haha, I have instantaneous email notification on. :D Depending on the speed of the song I put in a hex value of 10, sometimes up to 20, but usually 10ish.
- hamsteralliance on October 03, 2009 23:18
@hamsteralliance: in the PeerChord stuff I dunno, I just leave it at 32 or change it depending on how in-time I want it to sound. I'm not picky about it.

Not really post-rock, but influence by my love of post-rock. Guitars, drums and a synth keeping it all together.
dude shit like this amazes me, to think you can create this stuff in buzz is beyond me.
@rotkin te: This particular track is pretty much all Native Instruments VSTs. I picked up the Komplete 5 recently and have been really into it. and now Komplete 6 is coming out...FUUUUUU.
