Hamilton Beach started as the brainchild of a music student named Nate Asman. Once he encountered a set of musicians that held complimentary interests, the band you see before you was born. Nate mainly uses Ableton Live to handle the base tracks and Max/MSP the programming side of things. The band features Nate on Monome, keys, and tech shit, Travis Lien on drums, Keith Randel on guitar and bassist Max Miller. We fill out the sonic landscape with an organic body aimed at merging the precision of electronic music technology with good old-fashioned human gusto. The intent of such a combination is to return the audience-to-musician relationship that lacks in so many otherwise phenomenal electronic musical experiences that have become the mainstay of the contemporary music scene. Nothing can replace the spontaneous joy of live music. That said, may we have this dance?
