Hey Everyone. I've realized that if we really want a statement, we need to bring in a number. I need everyone's support in this petition!!!!:

Lets raise some numbers and force them to face the problem, rather than remove tracks.

I noticed a view hours earlier there were more tracks in this group, &rt;100. Now the number drastically declines. My track have been removed from the group. This is not good and someone seems to interfere with our right to speak! I would like to know who did this............

@Mister. T: Thanks for the link to Brad's article, Theo! It sheds some light on the issue, in particular the comment section... seems to me that the SC guys don't plan to enforce the "next" version on everybody, at least not until it's design and functionality has been finished to a point that content providers can enjoy at least the same quality the classic platform presently has.

I've always had a penchant for lyrics parodies, and the recent events inspired me this:

Fly me to the cloud and make me play among the crowd
classic is the way that makes your users feel so proud
in other words please go back
in other words new's not better

Authors say the changes that you made have gone too far
let them have the tools they need to make you what you are
in other words don't be a toy
    in other words stay creative

SoundCloud without authors is a bottle without beer
listen to their voices and don't make them disappear
in other words we miss you
in other words.... kill the new

I'm starting to feel like a few people have already began exploiting this situation to gain a few plays. am I the only one?

    Paranoia is in bloom,
    The PR transmissions will resume,
They'll try to push drugs that keep us all dumbed down,
And hope that we will never see the truth around
    (So come on)
    Another promise, another scene,
Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed,
And all the green belts wrapped around our minds,
And endless red tape to keep the truth confined
    (So come on)

    They will not force us,
    They will stop degrading us,
    They will not control us,
    We will be victorious
    (So come on)
    [ Lyrics from: ]
    Interchanging mind control,
Come let the revolution take it's toll,
If you could flick a switch and open your third eye,
    You'd see that
We should never be afraid to die
    (So come on)

Rise up and take the power back,
It's time the fat cats had a heart attack,
You know that their time's coming to an end,
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend

    They will not force us,
    They will stop degrading us,
    They will not control us,
    We will be victorious
    So come on

    They will not force us,
    They will stop degrading us,
    They will not control us,
    We will be victorious

@Mister. T: Just read the engadget article by SC user BradHill/

From Nick, a SC dev, in the comment section of the article: &rt;&rt;"Of course, the overall conclusion that this represents a shift in target audience is correct... The new SoundCloud represents a step in the direction of listeners."

If you were wondering whether SC doesn't "get it," or simply doesn't *care* about the musicians and other content providers who (often) pay for the service, and who give listeners a reason to listen (mainly for free)...

Yes, for those reading this discussion, please make sure at least somebody has your email or another way to get in touch if you decide you've had enough. I've gone through such worries on this site and others when a colleague drops off the (virtual) planet.

We know Joor is all right of course, but we'd still like to know that he made a choice to go, having seen that the protest he began had its own legs, and wasn't pushed out. I really believe that's the case because it was very early on when I noticed his account was gone, I don't think SoundCloud would have had time to react in such a harsh way yet (and I do trust them not to do so—all the SC staff I've interacted with have seemed to be fair-mnded people, at the least.)

I think most of us are still hoping that "the good fight" will have good results. David Barclay has dared to go back into the dark waters of Next and says they are making some changes already. Funny that it took them 'til this point when they've had so much input all along...

A big thank you to everyone who's putting in time on this. Whatever the outcome, we have certainly made it very obvious what a true *community* this platform has given birth to.

@Mister. T: repeating myself for others to notice and respond: "I would propose that we all agree NOT to delete our accounts -at least not without informing a few others with whom we have outside contact- so that if anyone else goes 'missing' the rest of us can safely guess what happenned."

@Mister. T: a few of us were just discussing this here, at 0:01 on s-e-P. since you have a way to contact him, could you confirm that he did not delete his account by himself?
