This is the first of the 20-20 mixes I'll be posting as a farewell to you all. I'm retiring from djing after nearly 19yrs and will post my top 20 songs over 20 categories starting with the "Chill Out Session". There will be a brief description on the release and the venues the tracks were mainly played. Will also add the years I played at relevant venues. Turn on, tune in and bliss out.

    1. DJ Shadow - Midnight In A Perfect World: Released in '96 on the album "Entroducing", this was played regularly at Mojo's and Phillimores. Respect to Phil & Anna (Mojo's Bar 1997-1999)
    2. Massive Attack - Teardrop (Mad Professor Remix): Released on the b-side of the "Teardrop" single in '98 and was played at Phillimores. Respect to Rachael O'Byrne (Phillimores 1999-2001)
    3. Portishead - Wandering Star: Released in '94 on the album "Dummy". Played mainly in my bedroom in Broome but like the rest of the album, it got used regularly in sets at Mojo's & Phillies.
    4. Zero 7 - Out Of Town: Released in 2000 on their 2nd EP, this track got a strong workin out late Sunday arvo in the Phillies better place.
    5. Deadbeats - Funky For You: Released as a single in '98 and I think I grabbed this one from Central Station records. Respect to Dave Jackson.
    6. Les Negresses Vertes - Face À La Mer (Massive Attack Remix): Originally released in '93 this track got another look in on Café Del Mar Vol. 5 compilation in '98. Respect to Jose Padilla.
    7. RJD2 - Ghostwriter: Released in 2002 on the album "Deadringer" This one got worked at Hudson Gallery on King St. Respect to Dom & Mon (Hudson 2003-2005)
    8. London Funk All-Stars - Listen To The Beat: Released in '95 on the album "London Funk Vol. 1. Played at The Cott Sunday Sessions, Mojo's and Phillies.
    9. St. Etienne - Only Love Can Break Your Heart (A Mix Of Two Halves): Released in '90 this Andy Weatherall mix was a huge fave of mine through the 90's.
    10. Soul II Soul - Back To Life: Released in '89 this went hand in hand with the above track. Utterly timeless tune.
    11. BBG - Snappiness: Released in '90 this was just one of those tracks you discover as a DJ startin' out back in the early '90's. It was classic then and classic now.
    12. Incognito - Out Of The Storm (C's Planet E Special Mix): Released in '96 this is one of my favourite tracks of all time. Carl Craig's reconstruction is absolutely breath-taking. Respect to Rudy Perone from Central Station for this one.
    13. Rae & Christian - All I Ask (feat Veba): Released in '98 and another Phillimores late arvo anthem.
    14. Alice Smith - Love Endevour (Maurice Fulton Mix): Released in '06 and it still gets played out regularly to this day. This one gets canned at Luxe Bar. Respect to Michelle & Andy (Luxe Bar 2003-2012)
    15. Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy (Perfecto Mix): Released on the '91 single this track had such a profound influence on me that it never left the crate. The album "Blue Lines" is in my top 5 of all time.
    16. Amp Fiddler - Faith (Jazzanova Remix): Released in '06 on the album "Afro Strut". Underrated, this cat is pure silk and I've played every single he has ever released at Luxe Bar.
    17. Akasha - Crazy Baby (Groove Armada's Presque Celebre Mix): Released in '99 on a remix EP, it had Phillmores written all over it.
    18. AIM - Sail (Rae & Christian Mix): Released in '99 and no doubt I got this one off Tim at Mills. Perfect sundowner tune. Respect to Mills Records, Freo.
    19. Nightmares On Wax - Stars: Released on the album "Smokers Delight" in '95. I could listen to the album back to back and never get sick of it.
    20. Neneh Cherry - Move With Me: Released in '92 on the "Homebrew' album. One of my favourite albums from one of my favourite female artists. She is a big reason I love music. "Into a world I plunge through my headphones..."
