Ask any Groovement fan to describe the band's sound. You might hear something like: Gnarls Barkley flew a Led Zeppelin called "The Mothership" through the Galactic and landed a few Meters away from Motown; more simply said: a funky good time.
Groovement is an energetic six-piece band that plays a mix of groove, funk, and jam music with catchy pop vocals and huge harmonies. Groovement embodies the soul of Northwest Arkansas—fun, unpredictable, and full of life. Their shows are filled with hip-shaking original tunes with spontaneous jams and sing-a-long choruses, complimented by some classic and not-so-expected covers.

Groovement is a diverse, joyous musical experience performed by talented musicians who truly love what they do. Groovement is the brainchild of Fayetteville's most talented and recognizable faces. Over the course of countless shows, jam sessions, sit-ins, fill-ins, member swaps, and a long search for that "just right" chemistry, the lineup was solidified in the summer of 2010.

Their original sound is voiced by front-man Alex Carr, with his soulful vocal hooks. Even though the power of his voice stands on its own, his melodies are accompanied by thick vocal harmonies from every band member. The instrumentation of the band is rounded out by Jacob Johnson's sultry sax lines, meshed with Adam Becker's rip-roaring keyboards; Trey Burkett's smokin' guitar licks; and Randy Soller's bass locking perfectly into Bryan Burkhart's thunderous drum grooves.

Even though Groovement's birth was only in April of 2009, this band sits on years of experience. The members of Groovement are former members of Fayetteville favorites such as Deacon, The Sarah Hughes Band, The Fayetteville Funk Ensemble, Humpback Jack, Solomon's Vine, Lil' Hoojin', The Honkies, and many others.

Groovement is currently in the studio writing and recording their debut album, as well as establishing a solid fanbase through live performances. They continue to stretch the boundaries of modern music, turning ears and shaking hips wherever they perform.
