@gregwilson: you mention that you use an external controller to control the software. what make/model controller do you use?

@Homie J: Not sure which one you mean as your comment is right on the mix. If it's the previous track it's Kid Color's edit of 'Do It To The Music' by Raw Silk, if it's the one coming in, that's my edit of Mike & Brenda Sutton's 'Don't Let Go Of Me'.

@MaikHensel: The one playing here is the Kid Color edit of Raw Silk 'Do It To The Music':

@gogetrecords: I use a program called PCDJ, which has an external controller linked to the laptop with vari-speed etc. I also use the Revox B77 reel-to-reel to pepper in more sounds / fx, and sometimes dub things up a little.

@gogetrecords: Original 12" mix - I've just extended the beats at the intro and stuck some at the end.

@Tom Croll: It's going to be uploaded elsewhere. Don't have the details yet, but if you email me I can put you on my emailing list, which gives weekly updates of all my stuff (DJdates, online mixes, blog, SoundCloud etc).

May I ask, what support do you use when performing such live mix? Just a laptop and some files? If so with which software? Or do you use the real cakes as well? Jus'curious

@gregwilson: i was actually talking Electronic I just slipped my message on the wrong bit. Maybe it wasn't a Revenge edit and possibly one of Mark E's as he was the one spinning it. Hi ho sailor its a rubber dinghy.

Thanks so much for this! Unfortunately I couldn't get tickets for the boat party, but saw the main stage set. Don't suppose you have that mix? I know I'm being cheeky!

    • gregwilson
      gregwilson at 1.21.20 on July 21, 2011 18:59

@Tony Sulliban: I thought we were talking about Electronic 'Getting Away With It' (the final track), but I've just clicked on the waveform and realised that it's Gwen McCrae's 'Keep The Fire Burning', which is indeed a Revenge edit. No wonder there's some confusion here!

      gregwilson at 1.02.56 on July 21, 2011 18:52

@j.groove: It's a re-edit I've recently put together of Mike & Brenda Sutton's 'Don't Let Go Of me (Grip My Hips And Move Me)' from '82.
