Greg Hooper has PhD in Psychiatry and a long background in music and visual art. (It's neuroscience really, I'm not a clinician and I don't think I'll keep using the third person which I always find a bit weird). Most of my music has a strong generative component where I'll think of a system to get things going in way that I find conceptually interesting or think will lead to outputs that are interesting, maybe even both. Then I'll edit the output to make a piece that I think is good musically. Which is a sort of Darwinian selectionist approach.
Workwise I'm gradually extracting myself from academia and spending more time on a company I've set up to develop software for people living with disability (which includes carers as well as the people who have the actual disability itself )
