The simple things breath down softly
Through the skies inside of my heart
Atop the buildings I can hear the grown children
Screaming for the fog to please come apart

And if it does they swear they'll laugh forever more

The simple things bring the window
To an abrupt halt and close
Nonsense streaming from the bed by your doorstep
Where we laughed and nobody ever goes

And if they do I swear I'll laugh forever more

The paint comes off the wall and there lies a hole

And we could see the stars underneath the trembling stars
On which we lay gazing the night away

A few years pass and some are meant to last
But a group is an ego all the same

And if its not I swear we'll laugh forever more

And if we're free we'll be knockin on heaven's door
