About

15-year old indie songwriter Gal Musette from San Clemente, California is the songwriter and vocalist behind the haunting, melodic, alt- indie-folk duo – Gal Musette. In honor of the Magnetic Fields album 69 Love Songs, Gal has started to write and record 70 Love Songs (as a tribute to Stephin Merritt who inspired her to write music). In just under two years, she is on song number 50, and also had the opportunity to support the Magnetic Fields on their recent tour in the mid-west. Joining her on this journey is the multi-talented Brent Samson.

“A 14 year old girl who loves Stephin Merritt is writing/singing her own 70 Love Songs. DAMN she's good ” –Author Neil Gaiman

“And the thing is, she is halfway through it with a collection of songs so rich and beautiful, her age becomes just an anecdote. When you hear the 15 songs she has released as part of her self-titled demo album, you have to realize you’re witnessing the work of a genius in the making.” – Music in Press

After completing the 70th song (early 2014), Gal Musette is planning to offer all 70 Demos (signed, mixed and mastered) exclusively to those who will contribute to a unique crowd-funding opportunity, which will fund the first Gal Musette album – including the best 12 songs of the 70 (as voted by the lovely fans).

For now, we will rotate all complete demos occasionally. Thanks for listening!
