GothiCello Gerald Nicks Tacoma Thanks for taking the time to listen to my music. I hope my music has made a difference in your life, because life is worth living; always keep being creative and have fun! I’m a Gothic Singer-Songwriter of Dark Electronica with roots based in Jazz, Lounge, Rock, Folk and Americana. My purpose is to create "Music to raise the dead, and calm the lost souls". The recurring themes are dark, but hopeful, based on life experiences, and cautionary tales of lessons to be learned in this life and the next. I chose the stage name “GothiCello” several years ago due to my primary interest in the cello, and while it is still used in my music, the emphasis has now turned to singing and performing live over tracks I’ve created with my 5-string electric cello, electronic percussion, and laptop. Thanks to Aetherial Images for his collaboration to re-invent my musical persona, I portray a grave digging crooner, with a spade shovel mic stand. Some of my most notable influences are Dead Can Dance, Fields of the Nephilim, Lycia, The Cult, Type O Negative, Voltaire, Depeche Mode, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Thelonius Monk, and The Doors. I am also a member of The BetaTest Collective, the best in Dark Seattle music: http://www.BetaTestCollective.com So, welcome to the hand-basket, we're going places!
