GOOGAN alias HARI SINGH is a producer, musician, and DJ, has had ample experience in the music industry. His diverse artistic abilities have enabled him to produce various musical genres like Indian electronica, Sufi electronica, electro house, and psytrance. Also a classically trained musician and vocalist, he has experience in live performance.
Passionate about electronic music, he did his audio engineering diploma from SAE Chennai in 2003.He then shifted to Delhi to work in a studio called STUDIO SYNTHESIS for a year, where he had the opportunity to work with Indian classical greats such as USTAD AMJAD ALI KHAN, AMAAN and AYAAN ALI KHAN, ANOUSHKA SHANKAR, etc.
Hari has also had extensive experience in the commercial industry, making background scores for corporate presentations, making ringtones for Airtel and Nokia, recording voiceovers for BBC, Coca Cola and so on.
After working here for a year, he shifted to Manchester, where he joined the MANCHESTER MIDI SCHOOL to concentrate on electronic music. Here, he produced with NONCHALANT sounds making Indian electronica, which has been featured by BBC music, as well working in clubs doing live sound and event management.
Having spent 3 years in Manchester, Hari came back to India in February of 2008, where he began working with an audio solution company called AUDIO ASHRAM. He has a project with NIKHEL KUMAR MAHAJAN (SATTYANANDA, KALYUG, SHIVA CENTRAL) called SAATVIK SEQUENCERS, which focuses on Indian classical music fused with electronica. Together, they have an album to their name called THE MIDDLE PATH. Hari also has a solo project called DERVISH, which he uses as a platform to produce Indian sufi electronica. He has made an album under this project called ELEMENTS OF LIFE. He formed a band in december 2008 with Sukhmani Malik (classical vocalist) with whom he is planning a third album, and also plays live music with her.
As a commercial producer, Hari also specializes in making original music for fashion shows, having worked with Noyonika Chatterjee for a fashion show showcasing bridal wear.
