Formed in 2009 the Brazilian indie-punk quintet, Some Community, who once called itself a girl group now finds itself with a much stronger lineup. Although the three original ladies, Veronica Vacaro (Keys), Juliana Vacaro (vocals), and Gabriela Gonzalez (guitar), are still stealing the spotlight, they're now accompanied by two strong gentlemen (especially when it comes to carrying their heavy cases). The Korg keyboard of Veronica Vacaro alone weighs 70 lbs, while Juliana Vacaro's lead vocals weigh approximately 1 ton.

In late 2010, Marco Frugiuele joined the band and brought the weight of drums that conjure up thoughts of war hymns. Lastly, Bernard Simon joined the band in late 2011 and with him came an overabundance of creative bass lines, and in some moments, face-melting guitar riffs. The chaotic energy that blooms when Some Community is united as one on a stage is like a cactus covered in flowers that are surprisingly beautiful.

With an EP released in the beginning of 2010, RinoRino, February finds Some Community releasing the highly anticipated follow up, titled UnderConstruction (EP).

In the band's hometown of São Paulo, they have played with bands such as Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Cut Copy and Howler. This March for the second time, Some Community will conquer the USA which includes a pit-stop at the esteemed SXSW Festival.
