Need a gift for a gifted musician?
godBrother is made up of two members Marko Peli and John Sporidis. Marko started Djing at the age of 14 in the beginning as a battle style DJ on vinyl. Spending summers in Greece visiting family Marko was exposed to house and electronic dance music at an early age and was in his first nightclub by 14. Greatly influenced Marko started spinning house under the name DJ Markos. Back in DC underage and before music was online the only outlet to house music was the Yoshitoshi record shop on M st (which was a massive influence as well). A couple years later a little bit older and getting more serious Marko started spinning under the new name godBrother with the plan of forming a duo with his actual god-brother (JOHN:JOHN) in the future. Under godBrother Markos spun house parties in DC and colleges on the east coast. Marko got his first club event as godBrother opening for Trevor Simpson of Ultra Records in San Francisco. Marko moved to San Francisco and was spinning in Clubs around the city and playing after hour parties in the SOMA area as godBrother. About 8 months later Marko packed up and moved back to DC to be joined by his actual god-brother John (john john) Sporidis behind the decks. John Sporidis is also known as JOHN:JOHN a producer with a deep future beat vibe and a talent for manipulating vocals, samples, and sounds. As a duo Marko and John started recording DJ sets remixes and tracks starting with there first set together “Back to the Funk” which showcased their funky deep soulful sound. godBrother’s only goal is to make people dance and to have a good time expressing their love of house music and all electronic dance music.
