About

Gnomefoam started out as a scratchy experimental exercise, with choppped up and heavily processed samples and spoken word tracks. This has developed into something more upbeat and musical as I have learnt and grown, arriving at the new Gnomefoam you'll see here and on Bandcamp. I'm influenced by a wide range of music - hip hop, IDM, alternative rock, shiny pop and experimental noise, and I hope this all comes across in my music. I'm always interested in hearing feedback, so give me a shout whether you like or hate what I'm doing - feedback is feedback, otherwise I'm just shouting into the void! And I love tp collaborate, just in case you are even vaguely interested... :) My early material can be downloaded from now defunct netlabel Rack & Ruin Records:

Thanks for listening! Nice to be compared to Gorillaz, too. The guitars are sampled from a band called Slothbear, I'll give them the credit for the Talking Heads comparison.

@The Clocktoys: Thanks for giving it a play. I'm fairly certain that I haven't managed to get the grasp of this time-sig as 4/4 is so ingrained in me, but it was a fun experiment!

@The Clocktoys: Really? Thanks! I'm never confident about my vocals, but stripping the song back so far meant that the vocals had to the main focus of the song. Took me a long time to agonise over them!
