Diana Ross - That's how you start over (GeeJay2001 extended play)
written by E. Sanford & M. McDonald
from the Album ROSS, 1983
The Album is Miss Ross' third released on the RCA label. The album was a critical and commercial failure. It was released shortly before Ross gave a pair of free concerts in New York's Central Park. The album reached 32 on the US charts, 14 on the US R&B charts & 44 in the UK. It has never been reissued as a digital download. 5 of the 8 tracks were produced by Gary Katz, 2 by Ray Parker Jr and 1 by Miss Ross. The disc's premier single, "Pieces of Ice", was aided by a popular music video that included the blond lead dancer from Michael Jackson's "Beat It" video. It peaked at 31 on the US charts. Subsequent singles "Up Front" (US R&B 60, UK 79) and "Let's Go Up" (US 77) were also minor hits. "Up Front" was remixed by Jolley & Swain for its European release.

It may seem like the wrong time, to let somebody near, but baby don't fear me, i just want to lend an ear, you can run for cover, oh, but darling, don't you see, for every smile there's a teardrop, & that's just how it's gonna be, so it went wrong, somewhere down the line, but you can't hold on, it's just a waste of time, boy you're gonna laugh (just a little bit), & live through some tears (just a little bit), until you finally learn (that the point of it), is that love will come again, that's how you start over, that's how you begin again, that's how you start over, anyone who's lost love, always seems to swear, to never give your heart away, for someone to share, listen to your heart, each beat brings you nearer, 'til you understand, nothing seems too clear, boy you're gonna laugh (just a little bit), & live through some tears (just a little bit), until you finally learn (that the point of it), is that love will come again, that's how you start over, that's how you begin again, that's how you start over, love will come again...
