1986: "House Nation" & "Move Your Body" changed my life. Music from the minds of Jefferson, Heard, Lil' Louis, Armando, Mike Dunn, Adonis, Phuture, Vincent Floyd, Marcus Mixx, James Anderson, Kevin Jones, Vince Lawrence, etc. etc. ended up on my turntables via obscure distribution channels. Releases from labels such as Trax, Alleviated, Westbrook, Gherkin, Saber, Warehouse, House Time, Dance Mania, Muzique, etc. were my Religion. It is because of all those Chicago cats I wanted to make House,......... Music for those who knew.
1991: The Chicago inspiration resulted in my first vinyl release: Afterglow a twelve inch produced together with two close friends on a label in Detroit. No label in Holland wanted to release our shit back then... but because of the release overseas this changed instantly and we got signed to Play It Again Sam.
2010: What a journey it has been. Over 20 yrs of music production in many different styles for many different media... and now almost 25 yrs after my musical discovery, I am back to my first love again: "Chicago House." A Return to my teen-age years... hehehe
This is a 'noisy, lo-fi & drunken' tribute to Chicago House and particularly to Fingers (aka Gherkin Jerks aka The Housefactors) whose music might have been most influential to me back in the days. I did this tune a couple of years ago for my own dj-sets but dug it up after receiving a tune from Alex Agore that was made on a same tip. Both Alex's and my version are released digitally through 4lux Black (with vocal snippets) and now picked up by Royal Oak for vinyl (stripped versions).
