Like a musical octopus with a few less arms, George Cochrane creates techy dancefloor music, downtempo, and indie rock, sometimes swirling the colors together here and there. A multi-instrumentalist, his tracks often teem with layered keyboards, live drums, guitars, and his own moody, pretty vocals.
With a slew of releases under pseudonyms such as Origami (see: Andrew Phelan & Origami, Cubik & Origami), Fingermonsters, and now Ice Climber, on labels such as Drop Music, So Sound, Prismatic Tracks, Monsta Music, Fabric London and Wide Hive, as well as output on his own Dinner Party Records, George Cochrane is a bit of a chameleon.
All this talking about myself in the 3rd person is giving me a headache :) In any case, I make and play tunes every day, and I hope it stays that way.
Hypnotizing, for sure.
This reminds me of Jan Hammer a bit- great stuff!
Love the shuffled beat and all of the creative chord changes!
Such a cool rhythm!
OK, so, this is a little on the tasteless side for me. Gotta let go now and then ;)
Love the sound design! Epic on a grand scale. What's the mix bus compressor on theis?
Dirty goodness, and love the daft-y sweeps toward the end.
Love the harmony structure here! Nice.
Epic chord progression!
This file has been mastered for best/clearest output when used as a ringtone. Sounds a little nasty on real speakers. Try it on a phone! :)
This puts me in quite a mood... Love it!
RAWNESS
Nice crisp sounds!
Such bitchin' little FWAPS!
Nicely weaves old-skool vibes in with new touches. Hypnotic. Would play!
Gotta get my rollerskates, brb!
Spooky! Will def be playing this.
Ooh, love the slick, solid groove and cool sounds here.
Love the restraint and the short-decay sounds. Right up my alley.
I feel like I'm in a techno washing machine. Lovely.
Wicked crunchiness.. Love it!
Some real earth-moving gnarliness, love it.
Loving the incidental metal clinks and rad little stabs all over. Sweeetness.
Dude when can I come visit? This is rad.
Hot-damn... Really good stuff here. :)
Loving this mix- I'll be dropping you some tracks soon.
Really nice stuff, Alland!
Loving the subtle, edgy chordal hits here.
Lurrrve the little high synth arp.
This is definitely giving me a pleasant flashback both to San Francisco House circa '99/00 & to some of the more jaunty teutonic stuff I've been getting into recently. Lovely!
