@suspect: i'd love to get all four tracks on vinyl. the only thing i haven't a clue about is where to get it mastered, and how to avoid the finished product sounding like shit.
@factorypreset: heh, thanks Bo. I liked it so much that i've done a dodgy electro-rock remix that's just this beat cruncherized for a few minutes or so.
@suspect: could be one of two things: 1) i'm mixing down on el-cheapo dodgy logitech PC speakers :( or 2) there's a subtly oscillating filter over the whole mix that makes it sound like the whole thing was recorded on VHS tape... think I'll revisit that.
@factorypreset: yeah, i don't know what's going on there. the delay isn't filtered like it is on the rest of the track. will have to go back and fix it up.
@suspect: thanks. the bass line came first, and the rest of the track is really just an excuse to use it :) i think the hats/snares need some work. but other than that i'm pretty happy with this.
Ok, original title restored :) Thanks Tim. Coming up with this was a real surprise for me, I didn't sit down with the intention to write anything that sounded like this, but it just came out. I've listened to it countless times now and I'm still liking it.
@number8: i think the whole track needs more breathing space. i think paring back the snares and claps should do the trick. they make the intro feel a little claustrophobic.

loving the phoscyon arpeggiator, wouldn't be surprised if this ends up on most of my tracks in future.
@factorypreset: dance dance!
Really nice atmospheric track man.

@suspect: you're right, the bass is muddy. Planning on going back through the last 6 months of recordings and cleaning them up.

@suspect: yeah, the whole bottom end just kinda gets lost in the mix. will see what I can do. thanks for all the feedback.

@factorypreset: post-midnight recording sessions seem to bring out the spookiness in me.

I like this melody but can't find a sound that really works without making it too prominent, or disappear into the mush.

@themolk: thanks steve
