It all started from hanging out at his father's recording sessions and collecting a number of electronic keyboards as a child. Genji took up playing brass and percussion in the school band, eventually deciding to study professionally. He became fascinated with electronic music after being exposed to computer composition and sound design through his recording classes at GA State. Around that time, he also took up mixing dance music with vinyl records. In 2002, he moved from Atlanta to Ventura, CA and joined forces with Blue_NINE.a to found Syatic Media. It wasn't long before he became a staple in the infamous Santa Barbara mountain party scene while also hosting a show on dnbradio.com for over 2 years. This led to bookings in Los Angeles from Magnetic Space Labs and Junglist Platoon. 2005 saw Genji moving on and up the coast to San Francisco where he began working with artists such as Audiovoid, 7th Swami, Spektrum, Tha Fruitbat, Beytah, and Dirt. His performance credits include events by Word of Mouth, Evil Breaks, Stilldream, Raindance, False Profit, and many more.
